AeroVironment's LOCUST X3 is a laser weapon system for counter-unmanned aircraft. The US Army awarded AeroVironment a $464.8 million production contract for the system under the Enduring High Energy Laser (E-HEL) programme, the Army's first formal directed energy program of record.
